This course covers a wide range of technical elements focusing on understanding the importance of the changes and how they support the principles in the management system approach to environmental management. Not only are the specifics of the changes to the standard important, so are the impact they have on the structure and approach we take in managing organizations. This fundamental understanding is essential in successful progress with any EMS program. The course also provides an important auditing perspective. The changes to the standard and the significant structural developments are significantly beneficial for organizations but they require a different direction to auditing. It is important you understand how it can be audited, and are able to apply new and different auditing techniques to be able to fully validate the effectiveness of this new approach to systems. This course is taught by experienced instructors who are currently working in the development, implementation and auditing of ISO 14001:2015 management systems. All instructors are professional registered and certified ISO auditors and have practical, real-life experience with the application and interpretation of ISO to help you with specific questions and problems. These instructors have experienced thousands of good and bad management systems and can communicate practical solutions and best practices. Get ready for some great examples, tough debates, and awesome outcomes.
SCHEDULE AND HOURS
This course runs from 8:30am – 4:30pm over 2 days with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
It is expected that attendees will be familiar with the concepts of EMS and the process approach if they want to get the maximum out of this course. Also, that they will have read and be acquainted with the ISO 14001:2015 standard. This is not really an introductory course and it doesn’t take a novice approach to learning, but if you want to get exposed to some great philosophical discussions and learn some key principles this may work for you.
