Cavendish Scott, Inc. is offering a standard AS9100C Upgrade package

• Modify all of the existing documentation to accommodate the changes that have occurred with the new version. All changes will be highlighted so you can see what has happened.
• For significant changes this will include added detail and extended definition of processes including forms, checklists and controls needed.
• Specifically address the three major change areas: risk management, configuration management and project management. Including additional procedures (if necessary) and integration into appropriate (and multiple) processes.
• Address the new PEAR effectiveness measurement requirements (audited through AS9101D rather than included in AS9100C).
• Review these changes with all affected people so they are aware of the changes.
• Provide an awareness training session.
• Complete/update a document review to ensure you have cross referenced proof that AS9100C (and B) requirements have been met and you can demonstrate how you have upgraded to your certification body.
• We will also address the issue of removing or not removing AS9100B requirements. If you remove these requirements from your system but you are audited to the B version of the standard (your registrar cant fit you in), you will sustain some nonconformances. Our approach is to leave B requirements in the system but highlight them so you can remove them yourself easily when the time comes.

Our fee for completing this work will be $5400.

Following on from and in addition to the upgrade described above, we would expect to conduct your internal audits on your behalf as normal. This will guarantee the upgrade to C has taken effectively and is as normal, part of the expected AS9100 maintenance.

We conduct audits based on IAF/ISO/AS guidance documents. The new AS9100 series standards and accreditation rules have generally increased the audit duration for AS9100C audits and AS9101D now requires much more to be completed during the audit. As always we will match your audit to these standards and this may mean an increase in internal audit duration to make sure we give each audit the appropriate effort to ensure your organization is safe during your registrar audit.

It is suggested by IAQG and generally expected that organizations registered to AS9100B will upgrade to C during their normal next surveillance (or reassessment) audit. Upgrading to the C version with our approach will not negatively affect your system (will not take your out of AS9100B compliance) and you can be ready as soon as your registrar makes the opportunity available to you.

Irrespective of what you decide to do for upgrading, we strongly urge you to contact your registrar to confirm the dates and the name of the auditor for your next audit. Because of the urgency and complexity of this upgrade, we predict much shuffling of auditors and changing of audit dates. Generally we expect the registrar’s larger and more valuable clients to command more attention and we recommend that you take the time and effort to secure your audit.

This upgrade, in particular, the changes in audit technique, are complex and detail orientated. We expect a much more thorough audit, with tougher auditing. Our upgrade will be designed to ensure you the clearest route to success.

We expect to be busy with many AS upgrades over the next two years and want to schedule and plan our workload to ensure that everyone who needs help will get adequate attention with plenty of time. As a minimum we hope to start work on upgrades 3-6 months in advance of your normal surveillance audit and will need some time in advance of this to handle administration etc.

You need to plan NOW how you intend to upgrade and when your upgrade audit will be. You don’t have to do it immediately but you do need to plan it so you can start the process 6 months in advance.
