Alternatives to Traditional Consulting

Traditional consulting is not the only way to reach your goal of registration. Using technology to overcome project difficulties is key to addressing issues such as remote locations, multiple locations, staff who travel frequently, scheduling difficulties, the need for greater control, and of course, limited budgets.

We take advantage of email, teleconferencing, on-line meetings, shared work spaces and digital photographs to replace consulting visits and to synchronize activities in multiple locations. Substantial work can be completed using email and telephone conversations. Although these are no alternative to an actual visit, costs can be curtailed substantially if you are prepared to work within the limitations that exist with these tools – and frankly the limitations are minimal.

Where you have multiple locations, we are often able to substantially minimize internal audit costs by performing remote electronic audits. The ISO accreditation agencies currently restrict the use of remote electronic auditing for registration purposes. However, this is a legitimate approach for consulting and internal auditing, although it is not possible in all situations. It is more appropriate to office type activities (usually computer based) and in situations where all records are stored electronically — and can thus be shared and audited over the internet.
